About Our Pastor

District Elder Bernard Samuel Kendrick, the eldest son of Evangelist S. C. Kendrick and Missionary Janet Kendrick, was born in Chicago and received his undergraduate education in Chicago City Colleges, Moody Bible Institute, and Urban Ministries Seminary. Pastor Kendrick gave his life to Christ at an early age, at the A.O.H. Bowen Avenue Church in Chicago. Elder Kendrick was called to preach in the ministry in 1974 and was ordained in 1977.

In 1979, the Lord led Elder Kendrick to Bethel Apostolic Church where he assisted Elder John Morris for six years. Elder Kendrick also became an active member in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) Illinois District Council (IDC). In 1986, Elder Kendrick organized a bible study group, and from this seed he founded Glad Tidings Apostolic Assembly in Bolingbrook, Illinois, under the PAW. God has blessed his ministry and his congregation to grow and flourish in the Bolingbrook area, and the ministry is well known throughout Bolingbrook and surrounding areas. Elder Kendrick has held several offices in the IDC including Assistant Secretary and Secretary of the Pastor's Alliance of the Illinois District Council. He was appointed District Elder over the 6th District, Illinois District Council of the PAW in January 1995. He has also produced and hosted several local radio broadcast ministries on stations WDND and WKBM in Joliet.

District Elder Kendrick was employed with FedEx Corporation for over 23 years until he retired in November 2002. God has given Pastor Kendrick a spiritual vision to lead the congregation of GTAA and to build. A man of integrity and purpose, Elder Kendrick has a big heart of compassion, outreach and caring for the people of God in his church and community. He devotes time and substance untiringly to the ministry, the surrounding community, and other churches in the community and his district.
